Eastern Cape Local Government MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane has warned the leadership of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro that failure to bring about stability in the next three months may lead to a complete takeover by provincial government.
Qoboshiyane was speaking in Port Elizabeth after meeting with the Chamber of Business, religious organisations, the Ratepayers Association and local NGO’s.
He says there is a need to be more decisive. Qoboshinyane says, “We have now again sponsored a Deputy Director General from Bisho to come in a space of three months to ensure that section 154 is implemented to the latter.”
He says additional matters will be evaluated and if needs be a strengthened position post will be appointed to ensure that all areas of weakness and failure are addressed.
