Tragedy struck without warning on Tuesday evening as a man, believed to be in his late thirties, died after passing out in his vehicle along Airport Road at the Port Elizabeth Airport.
According to a police officer at the scene, who cannot be named as they are not authorised to speak to the press, emergency services had tried to revive the man when he had what appeared to be a seizure.
“It seems to me he had a seizure, he was pale and he had a pulse of maybe 180 to 200 plus. His jaws [then] clamped up; he couldn’t breathe, and he basically just fainted and fell over,” the officer told RNEWS.
“We couldn’t revive him, so he passed away.”
