Swift action by police officials has led to the arrest of a man who is believed to have been involved in a house robbery in Kamma Park during the early hours of this morning.
Police spokesman, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said police had followed up on information received following a house robbery in Maria Street, Kamma Park shortly before 4am this morning.
Janse van Rensburg said a 63-year-old woman had woken up to find two men had forced their way inside the house, through kicking in the burglar bars, and had told her to stay in bed and lie still or they would kill her.
She said the woman had complied and the men had left without harming her after taking a few valuables.
Janse van Rensburg said police detectives had arrested the man, along with four others, in a house in Kabega, where some of the stolen property was also recovered.
Three men were arrested and charged with being in possession of dagga, one for a separate house breaking incident and the fifth was charged with the house robbery. She said all five men would appear in court soon.
