A gas leak has been capped and the Maher Container Terminal Building at Port Elizabeth reopened after a it was evacuated due to a leak.
Trucks are now being let off the terminal, which will completely reopen for business at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The Elizabethtown Gas spokesperson said the main was shut down while repair work is done. Crews responded to the report of a damaged gas line and worked to stop the flow of gas.
The company has no information on how it was damaged.
The terminals closed their gates and kept vehicles out until the gas main was shut off. All the vehicles already on the property were kept in place.
There were no injuries or other damage.
