After a knock on his shoulder, Luke Watson has been withdrawn from the Southern Kings team to take on the Stormers in their friendly clash this Saturday 11 February. He is not feeling 100% and as a precaution a decision was taken not to risk him in this game.
Lock Darron Nell will now take over the captaincy and Wayne Stevens the vice-captaincy. Jacques Engelbrecht will move to No. 8 and Boetie Brits will move to the starting line-up in the No. 6 position.
The original squad of 26 has now changed to a squad of 25.
The Stormers team will almost be at full strength, only Captain Schalk Burger who played in an under-strength team that faced the Cheetahs this past weekend will be missing. But that was done to avoid a clash with Kings Captain and old foe Luke Watson. (Editors Note: Maybe old Schalk will now return to play and make the Longhair happy?) We will also see Habana at number 13 – let’s hope that this is a good luck omen for the Southern Kings.
