The Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Cllr Danny Jordaan, has joined the mother of one of the Idols Top Six finalists, Loyiso Gijana, in an appeal to all residents of Nelson Mandela Bay and the people of the Eastern Province to give local hopeful Loyiso their full support in his quest to bag the win and become the South African Idol for 2015.

Loyiso is a contestant in the 11th season of Idols SA which concludes with the spectacular final on Sunday 22 November.
Loyiso Gijana was one of the four Eastern Cape contestants who was sent to the Carnival City auditions by radio station Algoa FM. Even though he was only 16 when entering Idols, this learner from Muir College in Uitenhage knows where he’s going in life. Both Loyiso’s mother and grandmother run their own businesses and even if he wins Idols SA, he says, “I still want to go on to study … something like Marketing, that I can apply in running my own career as a musician”. “You’ve got a bright future in the music business,” Somizi Mhlongo told him after his mature and confident performance of Usher’s “Good Kisser” in the solo auditions at Sun City.
