The SABC1 Live Talent Search 2012 finished with 23-year old Luthando Shosha from Port Elizabeth declared the overall winner and the newest presenter of Friday night music programme Live.
I’m feeling soooo many different things at once! I’m excited! Happy! Beyond blessed and really thankful to every single person that put me here by voting! There really is nothing cooler than having so many people have faith in you! I’m ready for this! I’ve worked hard to get here and I’m going to continue to do so, says Shosha.
According to a press statement the public fell in love with Shosha from the moment she made her first convincing appearance on the live show and her public voting performance was very consistent throughout.
Shosha will now have to bid goodbye to her hometown of Port Elizabeth for new pastures in Johannesburg.
From the beginning the ball was placed in the youths court for them to prove theyve got what it takes and they did not disappoint, as evidenced by the high standard the Talent Search produced. Congratulations to Luthando for a battle well fought and best wishes to her in her new role as co-presenter on Live, says Vukile Madlala, the Channels publicity head. SABC1 will continue to unearth youth talent and provide it with a platform to showcase itself.
The 2012 Live Talent Search was very exciting as more regions were involved and the support from the youth was very encouraging. The process was inclusive of the public because the aim was to unearth a presenter for the public by the public and the public has spoken.
When asked about her take on the auditions process, producer Beverley Mochebelele, said: the entire search from conceptualisation, execution to conclusion was a huge success. The response we got nationwide was phenomenal and a huge thank you goes out to everyone that entered and all our loyal viewers. It’s finally over and Mzansi got to meet the winning lady.
