After rain delayed proceedings on Day 2, Jerome Taylor bowled two contrasting deliveries first up. The first drifted down the leg-side allowed du Pesis, overnight on 99, to flick it away to the square leg boundary to bring up his fourth Test century.
The next delivery was on a good length, just outside the off-stump, forcing du Plessis to play at it. The thin outside edge was gobbled up by keeper Denesh Ramdin. The on-field umpires appeared to have missed the edge, but a review provided conclusive evidence of the outside edge.
