Fancy a chance to compete in one of South Africa’s only township races on Saturday, 26 April either in the 10km or the 5km fun run? If you do, make sure that you grab the last opportunity to enter the rejuvenated Nelson Mandela Bay Freedom Run today (Friday, 25 April) at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell between 5pm and 7pm.
There is a last minute opportunity to enter on Saturday morning (05:00 – 06:45) at the NU2 Stadium as well. However it pays to be early birds instead of waiting until the last minute.
This competition used to be known as the Motherwell Freedom Run and was aptly renamed Nelson Mandela Bay Freedom Run for its fourth edition that takes place a day before the country celebrates 20 years of freedom, which is widely considered a good story to tell.
Even in its current form, national and international athletes are competing in the first ever township race in Nelson Mandela Bay.
