JBux’s new Hip Hop music video ‘Warning’ showcases Port Elizabeth

28 September 2012 By Metro Newspaper

An amazing new hip hop video ‘Warning’ by local Port Elizabeth Hip Hop artist JBux, featuring stunning shots of the city, has just been released.

“Warning” is the first single off of Jbux’s first album titled “Since 1982”. The video was filmed in and around Port Elizabeth by Geoff Hookins and local photographer Ross Charnock.

Jbux started his hip hop career in 1996, at the young age of 14, and has grown to be one of South Africa’s favourite “emcees”(or rappers). He was recently voted in as one of the top 50 emcees in South Africa in Hype magazine.

JBux has worked alongside big names such as Zubz, Tumi and the Volume, Auriol Hayz, Dj Ready D, and HHP among others. This year he was also included in the Rhymesayers Records compilation in USA, which is one of USA’s biggest independent labels.

Jbux has also worked with Definition Baroque, a Scandinavian Producer, and many other international producers. His music has been played on radio all across Africa, Europe, USA and even Australia. He has also been featured on the world’s top hip hop radio show “The Wake Up Show” with Sway and King Tech.

In 2007 Jbux launched True Sight Music, in order to develop PE hip hop.

He has since released five albums for local musicians, Hishaam, Schaik, Epic the Scriptwriter, and others, all of which have received five star ratings in the Hype magazine.

In 2011 Jbux moved to Johannesburg to record his own album “Since 1982”which is scheduled for release in Early October.

The music video, which has some amazing time lapse photography shots of the Bay,  also features Dylin Erasmus, also known as BBoy Gift, from Gelvandale.

Erasmus, who is rated South Africa’s best BBoy, has received international acclaim for his dancing, having been featured on the International Red Bull BBoy team.
