Tavcor Suzuki Port Elizabeth, recently held a special Suzuki 1000th new car sold celebration, to say thank you to all their loyal customers. This occasion was marked by performing a special hand over of the 1000th new car sale to owner, Mrs. Patricia Wilcock.
Tavcor were looking for expansion 4 years ago but had to consider taking on a brand that would meet the expectations of what Tavcor customers were used to. The reliability of the Suzuki product convinced the Tavcor board of directors to invest strategically in the long term, as they believed the brand would earn their space in the South African passenger car market. The Dealership was opened in February 2009 and up until October 2013, 1000 new cars have been sold. Volkswagen AG in Germany also invested in the Suzuki brand about 2 years ago and still owns a 20% shareholding in Suzuki worldwide today.
Clive Taverner, Dealer Principal of Tavcor Suzuki said that, “Tavcor have been Volkswagen dealers in Port Elizabeth since 1955, and dedicated Audi dealers, for the last 30 years as well, so associating itself with a new brand was a decision taken with extreme care and diligence.” The Tavcor Suzuki Dealership is situated in Greenacres, Port Elizabeth near the Greenacres hospital and delivers some of the highest levels of Suzuki customer service in South Africa, in both sales and workshop service levels.
Craig Dunnington, Brand Manager of Tavcor Suzuki said that, “as part of our celebrations we will have special deals on for the whole month to say thank you to the Port Elizabeth community for their continued support.”
Suzuki, stemming from humble beginnings, now has over 100 years of heritage behind its name. Michio Suzuki, then a producer of looms (a device used for weaving textiles) pursued his passion for cars and bikes and founded the company in the Hamamatsu, Japan in 1909. Suzuki South Africa and Tavcor Suzuki are committed to building on the legacy of Michio Suzuki by offering technologically advanced and reliable vehicles and are proud to celebrate 100 years of innovation, good value and a fantastic “WAY OF LIFE.”
Editor: aaah so that is why my mates used to call their 50cc Suzuki’s “sewing machines”.
