The Boardwalk has enthusiastically hopped onboard to support Wayne Bolton’s One Land Love It campaign to raise awareness and funds for rhino conservation in South Africa. The Boardwalk is the venue sponsor for the fundraising dinner to be staged at The Boardwalk International Convention Centre on 29 October 2015.
The event will also launch Wayne Bolton’s One Land Love It 6 000km cycling expedition across South Africa. During Bolton’s epic journey, from 28 November this year to February 2016, he will stop at all 19 of South Africa’s national parks to help raise awareness for the plight of Africa’s rhinos.
Caring individuals and companies in Port Elizabeth are urged to be part of the spirited evening of fine food, inspiring talks and an auction. Motivational speakers presenting at the event include Braam Malherbe, the acclaimed extreme adventurer, motivational speaker, conservationist and philanthropist; Vasti Geldenhuys, an acclaimed adventurer who rowed from South Africa to the US with her boyfriend, Riaan Manser; and Ashley Dowds, a South African television presenter known for co-presenting the reality travel show, Going Nowhere Slowly.
Guests will also be entertained by renowned local musician Claire Venn and two of Port Elizabeth’s most sought-after auctioneers, Catherine Elliot and Jacqui Williams, fondly called the 2 Sisters Auctioneers.
Proceeds from the banquet will be donated to two deserving organisations: the SANParks Honorary Rangers and a rhino orphanage, Care for Wild Africa. The SANParks Honorary Rangers support SANParks and the Rangers who work on the frontlines against rhino poachers and need resources and support in order to carry out their anti-poaching operations. Care for Wild Africa is a rhino orphanage that is doing amazing work in rehabilitating rhino calves that are brought to them when the mothers are killed by poachers.
Tickets cost R500 per person or R5 000 per table of 10. This includes a sumptuous dinner and an evening of fantastic entertainment. For more information about the black tie event at The Boardwalk, contact Nikki Bolton 041 364 0088 / firstname.lastname@example.org / www.oneland.co.za/black-tie.
