The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Land Planning and Management Sub-directorate will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday at the German Club (18:30) to present the draft Heatherbank Precinct Plan to all interested and affected parties.
Human Settlements Standing Committee Chairman Buyisile Mkavu said that the Municipality’s Land Planning and Management Sub-Directorate is in the process of undertaking a Heatherbank Precinct Plan study.
“The Precinct Plan was necessitated by land use applications submitted to Council from within the study area. Heatherbank is a low-density area within the urban edge and is characterised by smallholdings. It was important to holistically investigate aspects such as the transportation network, service availability, required social facilities and suitable densities within the study area,” he added.
A working draft document of the key components of the draft Heatherbank Precinct Plan is now available for public input and comment. This document can be inspected at the municipal libraries (Main, Walmer, Linton Grange and Newton Park Libraries), Customer Care Centres (Walmer and Central) and the Land Planning and Management Sub-Directorate, third floor, Lillian Diedricks Building.
The public meeting will be held at:
- Venue: The German Club Hall
- Date: Thursday, 11 April 2013
- Time: 18:30
