Luca GallarelliThe group’s CEO, Abey Mokgwatsane said, “Gallarelli is both qualified and prepared for the position of MD after outstanding work as business director on some of the agency’s biggest clients and four years on the board.”
Port Elizabeth-born Gallarelli studied computer sciences at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and then attended the AAA School of Advertising before joining Ogilvy Mather Rightford Searle-Tripp Makin in 2002.
Aside from a two year stint at the Jupiter Drawing Room, he has been at the agency ever since and recently has primarily been responsible for the SAB accounts portfolio. He joined the board in 2009 and was appointed deputy MD in 2012.
Gallarelli said he was “thrilled” with the opportunity to lead an agency that “feels like a second home to me and where I love the values and the creative energy of the place.”
A hallmark of Levinsohn’s tenure at OM CT has been restless innovation and Gallarelli promises even more of that, “in keeping with David Ogilvy’s famous habit of divine discontent, we must continue pushing, challenging and changing ourselves, our methods and our work.”
