Received these images and note this week:
I could not believe my eyes when I drove through the dip this afternoon (Thursday 14 June 2012), and observed a UTI truck pulled to the side of the road, with it’s doors open, just above the Baakens river. There was an almighty mess inside, broken paint cannisters and a large amount of paint lying inside the truck. The driver and assistant were removing the broken paint containers and paint smeared pallets – and scattered them around the truck close to the river. I then saw them scraping the paint out of the truck so that it could fall onto the grass below – a huge mess.
When I spoke to one of the guys and asked him why on Earth he chose to do this next to a river, he couldn’t answer me. Told him that I was going to be taking pictures and he started closing the truck doors and said that they would be leaving – urghhhhh!
Apologies for the picture quality – snapped quickly using my cellphone.
