Propella incubatees and other business owners are invited to attend a free Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) workshop at the Propella Business Incubator in Humerail.
“A number of small to medium-sized manufacturing and information technology companies have asked us to host a BBBEE workshop,” says Ellen Fischat, business support manager at Propella.
“BBBEE offers a number of opportunities to innovators and entrepreneurs – and they are the people we want to provide a home for while they grow their companies,” she says.
All business owners and managers in the region – and not only those in manufacturing and IT – are welcome to attend the workshop, which will be presented by Marvin Draai on Wednesday, March 9.
“Many SMMEs do not understanding what BBBEE benefit there are for their clients when they deal with them,” says Draai.
The workshop will focus on very broad views on the “why’s of BBBEE” he says.
Draai will look at the business case for BBBEE and how SMMEs can utilise it to their benefit to be more competitive in the market-place.
Draai obtained a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Port Elizabeth in 1993, and works at Calano Supplier Solutions, which does BBBEE consulting.
His focus is on procurement, with reference to the Amended Codes of 2013.
To attend this workshop you can contact Mara Jacobs before Tuesday, March 8 on 041 5023700.
