Springbok playmaker, Cecil Africa is one of three players who joined the squad on Monday for the Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens this weekend.
Africa’s inclusion in the final squad is however, subject to a fitness test later.
Bernado Botha and Cheslin Kolbe are the other two additions to the squad after Kyle Brown, the Blitzbokke captain, was ruled out of action because of a broken ankle.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Sevens team gets ready to improve on their performance from last week knowing too well they could end up playing in the Bowl for the first time in the IRB Sevens Series.
Team manager Semi Rogoyawa says they will have to improve.
“As you can see no teams are easy teams nowadays like before. All the teams are prepared well so we have to treat all the teams equally. And come on Saturday we can’t take any team lightly and you need to maintain your form and beat them.”
Fiji plays England in its first pool match at 10.22 pm on Saturday before battling Scotland at 1.28am on Sunday.
The final pool match is against the All Blacks Sevens at 5.52am.
