The feared West Indian strike bowlers, Ezra Moseley and Vasbert Drakes will arrive in Nelson Mandela Bay with the West Indies Women’s Cricket team on Friday 12 February at 18h30 to spend a week in the City for a camp ahead of their ODI matches later this month. Ezra (Assistant Coach) and Drakes (Coach) are both well known in this part of the country with Ezra having played for Eastern Province and Drakes for Border.
The West Indies will take on South Africa in three ODI matches on the 24th, 27th and 29th February, all of these matches will be played in East London (Buffalo Park).
On the 4th March they will play against South Africa at Kingsmead, followed by a T20 at Bidvest Wanderers on the 06 March. Their last match will be a T20 at Newlands on the 9th of March.
The camp in Nelson Mandela Bay from 12-20 February will see the EP Women’s Invitational team playing the West Indies in a practice match at the Dan Qeqe Stadium on Thursday 18th February. According to the Camp Organiser Mr. Tono Mle it is “all system go” for the camp and E.P Cricket is ready to welcome the West Indies Women’s Cricket Team.
Their programme starts on Sunday the 14th of February with a middle practice and this will be followed by daily net sessions at St George’s. The match at the Dan Qeqe Stadium will start at 12pm and the public is urged to support the E.P Provincial Invitational Team.
