Easter is a time for festivals

EASTER is a traditional time of rugby festivals and this year is no exception.
St Stithians hosted the first major rugby festival 28 years ago. Vryheid followed along with St Johns College and King Edward VII School (Kes) in Johannesburg. Kearsney became the first KZN school to host an Easter festival. Grey HS in Port Elizabeth host a festival at the beginning of the Easter holidays.
Kearsney have attracted many of the top rugby schools in the country. In addition to hosts Kearsney, Glenwood and Westville from KZN, together with Grey College, Paarl Gym, Paul Roos, Monument, Affies, Queens, Selborne, Dale and EG Jansen will take part. The Skonk Nicholson Festival in Pietermaritzburg caters for the U14, U15 and U16 age groups. This festival runs from Saturday to March?27. Hilton, Michaelhouse, Maritzburg College, DHS and Kearsney will be attending the Grey HS Festival in Port Elizabeth from Saturday until March?28. Kearsney will play on two days of the festival before returning in preparation for their first game at their own festival on April?5.
No KZN schools are appearing at either the Kes or St Johns festivals.
