The DA can reveal that a parliamentary reply from Minister Des Van Rooyen contradicts the NMB version of events surrounding the illegal instruction by the Mayor to remove the DA’s billboard which stated “Danny Jordaan Proudly Brought to you by Jacob Zuma”.
This raises the question: Did the NMB municipality lie about Danny Jordaan’s personal and unlawful instruction to remove the DA’s billboard?
Minister Van Rooyen claims that according to the NMB Metro, it “has not yet established who gave the instruction for the billboards (sic.) to be removed and it is still investigating the matter”.
This directly contradicts an e-mail in possession of the DA where a senior official from the NMB department of safety and security confirms that it was Mayor Jordaan directly and personally who demanded that the billboard be removed immediately, in contravention of various municipal by-laws.
As the ANC scrambles to cover up one bungle after the next, Mayor Jordaan’s administration continues to flounder and is forced to lie and deceive the citizens over broken promises and poor service delivery.
Having not delivered on a single promise over the last year, the billboard’s message has now never been truer, with Jordaan following the example of his broken and illegitimate boss, Jacob Zuma.
In the last month, Mayor Jordaan has appointed a convicted criminal and alleged billion-rand fraudster to head up the Metro’s safety and security directorate, has approved the hiring of convicted criminals and untrained personnel for his fake metro police service, and has now submitted untrue information to a national Minister.
This year’s local government election gives the people of the Bay the opportunity to vote for change that will move us forward again. The DA is set on winning Nelson Mandela Bay to deliver better services, stop corruption and create jobs.
