Eskom has requested the shutdown of the Kudu substation on Saturday 23 January between 05:00 and 11:30 to carry out refurbishments.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will be shutting down the electricity supply to almost the entire Despatch area between 5:00am and 11:30am on Saturday to enable the emergency upgrade and refurbishment of supply lines to the area.
Daleview, Reservoir Hills, Khayamnandi and the industrial area, alternatively fed from the San Souci substation on Saturday to soften the blow, should not be affected by the outage.
The reason for the disruption in supply, requested by Eskom, is to switch off the Kudu substation that supplies the entire Despatch with electricity, for the work to be done to ensure a more reliable and stable electricity supply.
