The Directors of Cricket Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd. announced today that Mr Dave Emslie has completed his short term contract as the Interim CEO of the Eastern Cape Warriors franchise, Cricket Eastern Cape.
John Ross-Smith said; “The Directors would like to thank Mr Emslie for having acted in this position since his resignation from EP Cricket in July 2013 and for having served as the CEO of the franchise since its headquarters moved from East London to Port Elizabeth. Mr Emslie has served cricket with all his heart and soul for over 19 years and has formed meaningful relationships with everyone that he encountered. He will be missed by all in the cricket fraternity and remembered for his invaluable contribution to cricket. He has indeed played a meaningful and memorable innings.”
Mr Emslie expressed his appreciation to the Sponsors and the team for their wonderful support during his tenure as CEO of EP Cricket, and more recently as the interim CEO of Cricket Eastern Cape.
The following appointments have been made with immediate effect:
- The Acting CEO of Cricket Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd for an interim period is Mr Thando Booi, the CEO of Border Cricket.
- Ms Leigh Deyzel, the Commercial Manager of Cricket Eastern Cape and an EP Cricket stalwart who has worked closely with Mr Emslie for over a decade, will continue to run all operational issues from Port Elizabeth.
Final discussions are under way to secure the services of a former international player to fulfill the role of Cricket Consultant for the Warriors team, on a contractual basis.
The Directors of CEC are confident that this new structure will support a seamless transition and ensure the team is strongly positioned for the new season.
