The dates, venues and times for this year’s Nedbank Cup Last 32 matches have been revealed.
The Premier Soccer League issued all the necessary information about the start of this year’s competition today (Wednesday).
Defending champions Free State Stars will get their campaign underway with a match against Richards Bay FC at Goble Park Stadium on January 26, while Mamelodi Sundowns will be away to Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the same day.
On the same Saturday, Orlando Pirates will be hosted by Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium, while Cape Town City will host SuperSport United at Cape Town Stadium that evening.
Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium for their match on January 27 against Tornado FC from the ABC Motsepe League.
“The 2018/19 Nedbank Cup round of 32 matches, that will see some of the country’s amateur clubs trying to make a name for themselves against their much-fancied professional opponents, will kick-off on Wednesday evening, 23 January 2019. The last game of the round of 32 will be played on Tuesday, 29 January 2019. Defending champions, Free State Stars will kick-off proceedings when they host Richards Bay FC at Goble Park Stadium while Polokwane City and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila clash in the much publicised Limpopo derby. Both fixtures will kick-off at 19h30”, confirmed PSL in a statement.
“In addition to the 24 clubs from the PSL professional structures, eight clubs from the SAFA amateur structures await an opportunity to make a name for themselves; five of which will be making their Nedbank Cup debut appearance. The debutants are: Tshwane University of Technology (Gauteng), Boyne Tigers (Limpopo), NC Professionals (Northern Cape), Umvoti FC (Kwa-Zulu Natal) and Tjakastad Junior Shepard (Mpumalanga),” stated the PSL.
