PORT ELIZABETH – Democratic Alliance councillor Standford Slabbert has been expelled after he was found guilty of bringing the party into disrepute.
Slabbert allegedly circulated an offensive and racist email to his colleagues.
He was then suspended, pending an outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
His appeal against the guilty verdict was rejected by the party’s Federal Legal Commission.
Slabbert served as a councillor in the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality in the Eastern Cape.
