EP Cricket will be going to the polls on the 29th of March 2014 to elect the new Board of Directors, with the key position of President being contested by – Donovan May, Dr Malcolm Figg, Graeme Sauls and Gary Paul.
Mandisi Mali is unopposed in the Legal and Governance Portfolio.
Kumesh Reshalin (Commercial and Stadium Committee) and Duane Adams (Audit and Risk Committee) will not be opposed as Babalwa Mkuhlu has opted not to contest any of the positions.
The Black African Cricket Clubs Forum had three representatives on the previous Board which was set aside by Judge Kroon, Julius Majola, Mxolisi Breakfast and Luvuyo Mtati and they will once again represent the BACCF on the Board as they stand unopposed.
On Cricket activities, EP Cricket has enjoyed a good cricket season:
The Provincial team is currently placed second in the CSA three Days Competition after drawing against Kwa Zulu Natal Inland. The EP Women Provincial Team was is placed third on the Log after convincingly beating Border at Old Grey during their last match.
Club Cricket has sufficiently dealt with all the minor challenges which arose during the cricket season.
The MECER NMMU Madibaz 1 cricket team once again triumphed as winners of the 50-overs league and as such will represent Eastern Province at the National Club Championships to be held in Pretoria during April 2014.
