The Cape Town Duo, Crazy White Boy, one of the most prolific acts in South Africa with their “Ghetto Tech” style of dance music will be playing at the News Cafe on the Boardwalk on Friday evening 10 February.
The duo consists of Ryan Murgatroyd and Konstantinos “Kosta” Karatamoglou, two highly talented music producers/DJs with over fifteen years of combined music production experience.
Their single “Love you better” has become one of the most successful tracks in 5FM chart history and recently clinched a South African Music Award (SAMA) nomination as well as having featured on numerous Gold and Platinum selling dance albums locally and abroad.
“The name Crazy White Boy arose from when I took demos to school and the kids would always say that my demos were crazy for a white person!” said Ryan Murgastroyd. “Our sound is a blend of Kwaito and House rhythms. In some cases it is even a little electro but draws elements from different influences we have been introduced to over the years. We like to call it “Ghetto Tech”.”
“We’re really excited to kick off our entertainment year with the Crazy White Boy duo,” said News Cafe owner Sandy Zoetmulder, “they are the first of many live acts which we will be bringing to Port Elizabeth this year.”
News Cafe’s resident DJ, The Prez, and Nelson Mandela Bay’s Pete Larkin will get the party going from 9pm with a door fee of just R50 which includes two complimentary sponsors drinks. Tickets for Crazy White Boys will be available at the door with entry limited to the first 1,000 patrons.
