At 10h45, Saturday, 09th April, NSRI St Francis Bay duty crew dispatched a sea rescue vehicle and launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis II following reports of a boat capsized in the Krom River Mouth, St Francis Bay.
On arrival on the scene the two casualty crew, a local husband and wife, were found safe ashore and their river cabin boat was found washing ashore.
NSRI St Francis Bay assisted to recover their boat.
It appears that while negotiating the river mouth the boat propellor sheered off after hitting a rock causing the boat to be caught in the breaking surf.
The couple were not injured.
