Excitement is reaching fever pitch with just over 10 days to go before Port Elizabeth is hit by the Mbay Megafest on 2 June 2012.

Grammy-winning superstars Ne-Yo, Ludacris and Shaggy are preparing to jet into the country early next week ahead of what is set to become a signature event on the Eastern Cape’s music calendar.

SAMA-winning soul house trio Mi Casa are also gearing up to put on a powerhouse performance at PE’s Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the day, alongside rising Jamaican star Protoje and sensational local acts Shoelace Rockazsoul, Bucie, Eltonnick and Naak MusiQ.

Eastern Cape-based DJsMtira, Kasta, Baba D, Cute, Spectrum and Master Jam will be mixing up a storm on the decks to make sure the festival is an all-day party to remember.

The MBay Mega Fest is being staged by Zeranza.299 (Pty) LTD, and features a banquet of non-stop entertainment across two stages. The promoters hope the event will give a shot in the arm to the regional economy, creating employment opportunities and putting PE firmly on the national – and global – music map.

Demand for tickets is expected to surge as payday approaches, so fans are advised to secure their attendance at this music spectacular without delay.

Tickets, priced at between R150 (unreserved seating and wheelchair access) and R550 (Golden Circle) are available through Computicket kiosks, the Computicket call centre (0861 915 8000) and via www.computicket.com. You can also buy festival tickets at Computicket outlets conveniently located in Shoprite, Checkers and Shoprite Hyper stores.

Hospitality packages are available at a cost of R1 400 per person, including food and beverages. Contact Rukshane Abrahams at 041 408 8980 or 078 305 7271.

Event information:
– The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is flat and has wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities;
– There will be food and beverage kiosks on the day;
– Gates open at 10am;
– Buses and taxis will be made available to the public;
