In a statement released today the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) have confirmed the incident at Hobie Beach where vessel F/V Alley Cat ran aground. All authorities have been notified and have responded accordingly.
At this stage, the vessel owner has confirmed that a contractor has been appointed to manage the necessary salvage arrangements.
TNPA can also confirm that there has been no injuries or pollution reported. An emergency response team is on standby to assist should the need arise.
