Clinton Larsen is not worried about losing his job at Chippa United as they continue to search for their first win of the season.
Chilli Boys owner Chippa Mpengesi is infamous for lacking patience when it comes to chopping and changing coaches and has a history of changing the guard at least twice every season.
Larsen faced questions after his side’s 2-1 defeat to his former team Golden Arrows on Saturday at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
“Never, if there’s ever a coach who’s never worried about getting fired it’s Clinton Larsen, I don’t worry. The chairman and bosses always decide what they want to do, for me I work very hard day in and day out,” he said.
“Anybody can see the change that has taken place in the last six to eight months at Chippa United, I’m very proud of the work I’ve done in a short period of time. But one thing I’m never ever afraid to lose is my job.”
Larsen also made it clear that he’s secure financially, and believes he’s got a good relationship with the chairman.
“I don’t live from pay cheque to pay cheque like a lot of coaches do, I’m secure financially and I can say that I believe I have a very good relationship with the chairman. We share and communicate all the time. I’m happy to have that type of a relationship with him.”
