NFD Champions Chippa United is set to host Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, as they gear up for their return to the PSL
The former Cape Town based side Chippa United recently relocated to Port Elizabeth, where they will play all their home encounters at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Chippa had announced months earlier that they were on the verge of moving to the Eastern Cape permanently, but the deal fell through as it turned out that Maritzburg United were the primary targets.
However, Chippa boss Siviwe Mpengesi has since reached a deal with the Municipality and they are hosting AmaKhosi in an official welcoming match this weekend.
As part of their pre-season preparations, the Chilli Boys will play against the Soweto giants at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday. Kick-off is at 15h00.
Chippa has made a host of signings during the off-season, which includes their newly appointed head coach Kosta Papic and NFD top goalscorer David Zulu.
AmaKhosi are also expected to use this practice match to assess their new signings as well as some of their trialists ahead of their much anticipated Carling Black Label Cup match against Orlando Pirates on July 26.
