The Chilli Boys resumed training on 28 December in preparation for their first home game of the year against Bidvest Wits on Sunday, 10 January.
Dan Malesela is looking to continue his winning streak since taking over as head coach, having led the Chilli Boys to victory against Bloemfontein Celtic in December.
“The boys are doing well at training, we haven’t had any major issues in terms of injuries and/or fatigue from the December break. They are raring to go and are keen to climb the log table in an effort to end the season in the top eight,” said Malesela.
Assistant coach, Mbuyiselo Sambu is steadily finding his feet as a member of the technical team. “It felt kind of strange to cross over from being a player to assistant coach, but management and the players have been very supportive, which has made the transition a smooth one,” said Sambu.
Chippa United fans are urged to come to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday, 10 January to support the Chilli Boys. Gates will open at 12:30 and kick off will be at 15:30.
