FRESH from the convincing 2-1 win against Mpumalanga Black Aces in an Absa Premiership match at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, Port Elizabeth-based elite football league outfit Chippa United will be expected to come out with guns-blazing against Mamelodi Sundowns at home tonight. Kickoff is 7:30pm.
“We played well against Black Aces. Our players showed character to come from behind and score two stunning goals to win the match, said United Marketing and Communications Head, Luthando “Trompies Zibe-ko.
Except for Mike Mayambela who sustained a minor injury in their previous league match, all the players were raring to go against Sundowns.
“Everybody wants to play against Sundowns. The mood in the camp is so high. We’re waiting for the doctor to assess Mayambela and see whether he can be fielded, said Zibeko of the imposing Tshwane outfit under former Bafana Bafana Head Coach Pitso “Jingles Mosimane.
Mosimane would like to do well after thrashing Free State Stars 6-1, drawing 0-0 with Polokwane City and trouncing Maritzburg United 3-0 before coming to the Bay.
Keagan Dolly with four goals already this season and Teko Modise must be kept in check for the whole 90 minutes.
Head Coach, Roger Sikhakhane did not do badly too in his previous three matches, including a win against Black Aces.
Apart from losing to Supersport United at home, their only blemish, the Chilli Boys got the better of Maritzburg United 2-0.
With Lerato Chabangu on song, the likes of Eric Chipeta, Aristide Bance and even Mayambela should he play, would like to score goals and prove that the Chilli Boys are hot like chillies “Zibaba njengoPelepele at home.
“Winning is a habit. When you win you always want to win. This is the feeling among players. We urge our supporters to come in droves and add that extra player, said Zibe-ko, adding that with the fans in tow, the Chilli Boys would be unstoppable.
