PORT ELIZABETH – Port Elizabeth High Court Judge Jeremy Pickering has sentenced convicted child rapist Xolile Tose to life in prison
In December 2011, Tose raped a six-year-old girl repeatedly over a fifteen hour period, after luring her to his house.
He released her the following day — she was found on the streets by community members.
The little girl, now eight-years-old, was left with such severe injuries she now has to wear a colostomy bag.
A court-appointed psychologist has diagnosed the child as having the intelligence of a five-year-old.
The trauma of the rape has stunted her psychological growth.
The next step in her journey is to undergo a much-needed operation.
33-year-old Tose, of Kwanoxolo in Port Elizabeth, was convicted on Wednesday.
He’s been in police custody since his arrest more than two years ago, after having been denied bail.
