The Chiefs have been forced to call up a replacement hooker and a prop for Friday’s Super Rugby hit-out against the Kings in Port Elizabeth.
Coach Dave Rennie has confirmed Mahonri Schwalger is heading back to New Zealand along with Ben Tameifuna.
Schwalger’s knee hasn’t recovered well from last weekend’s clash with the Stormers, while Tameifuna is returning home due to a family bereavement.
Hooker Rhys Marshall, who impressed in his outings against the Highlanders and the Cheetahs, will replace Schwalger while the uncapped Michael Kaianga will also join the Chiefs squad for the match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
