The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber was privileged to receive a visit from a high powered French delegation this morning where selected Business Chamber members were given the opportunity to discuss potential opportunities of synergy between France and the Nelson Mandela Bay.
Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO Kevin Hustler gave the delegation a full briefing on the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, the city’s Industrial Development Strategy, as well as, the Business Vision 2030 and potential future catalytic projects in our region.
The French Ambassador to South Africa, Mrs Elisabeth Barbier gave an overview of the state of South African French Relations. Economic Counsellor, Mr. Serge Boscher, fleshed out the economic relations between our nations and the French Trade Commissioner, Director of Business France South Africa, Mr. Jacques Torregrossa explained how Business France can assist with trade and investment.
Visiting the Business Chamber for the first time, Dr. Yves Guénon, Chairman and Managing Director of Areva Southern Africa and Vice President of the French Business Chamber discussed the opportunities available in the nuclear industry, as France hosts 58 plants, and how business must focus on quality and skills development urgently for this type of mega-project.
