Next up is “Remo’s“. Be prepared to step out of Nelson Mandela Bay and straight into a gorgeous little café in Italy, right here in the up and coming Baakens Valley. Remo’s having been one of the first restaurants to move into the Valley and was recently revamped, making it a must-visit this holiday season. If you’re a coffee connoisseur, this one is definitely for you, but be warned once you’ve had your first sip, you’ll be hooked. With friendly hellos chanted as you walk through the door; it’s not a bad place to be a local. So what are you waiting for? Seize the moment, cogli l’attimo.

Another firm favourite is “Rhubarb and Lime“- the perfect place to catch up with an old friend. The friendly, helpful and relaxed staff create a comfortable environment, checking in and keeping you well fed and hydrated, but never making you feel rushed. What’s a catch up with a friend without just a little overindulgence? Rhubarb and Lime offer some scrumptious sweet treats, so after brekkie, live a little and be sure to give one of them a try.

Last, but certainly not least “Grass Roof“. This one is particularly attractive to families. With ample place for the kids to play and have fun and a little farm store to pick up a couple of things for the kitchen. Grass Roof offers a wonderful country breakfast experience. It does get very busy on the weekends so allow for a bit of a wait – nobody likes a person with the hangeries.

Nelson Mandela Bay is filled with incredible eateries, so don’t let your exploration stop here. When you find a special little spot, be sure to share it with your friends and family. Support local and be a part of showcasing all that our beautiful Bay has to offer.
For more scrumptious foodie friendly ideas have a look at all the things to do and see in and around the Bay or pick up a Nelson Mandela Bay Pass Card and treat yourself and your loved ones to a Port Elizabeth Beer Tour or a gourmet picnic at Thunzi Bush Lodge, but if you have a pass, why not do both.
