The Herald reports a boy (14), who allegedly torched a cottage at a Port Elizabeth children’s haven last week, is a pyromaniac with a history of aggression, according to one of his minders.
The boy also allegedly previously killed 10 goslings on the premises, according to MTR Smit Children’s Haven’s Dr Crystal Watson. The boy allegedly admitted to starting the fire at one of the cottages at the premises while the other children were on an outing. He appeared in the Port Elizabeth Children’s Court and will be sent to Queenstown to be assessed. The matter will then be referred to the Children’s Court for a decision on what action to take. The boy faces charges of arson.
