Andrew F. Tomlin Jr., 77, of Dorchester passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, after a brief illness.
Andy was born and raised in Port Elizabeth and graduated from Millville High School. After graduation, Andy went on to join the United States Navy and served as a yeoman. He received the National Defense Service Medal. Andy was a professional chef and restaurant owner throughout his life. He was known throughout the South Jersey area for his tasteful and authentic culinary expertise. Andy lived a full life and enjoyed entertaining and spending time on the river. He loved music, and especially singers Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble; he also enjoyed western movies and shows, and through it all “He Did it His Way”.
He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Rose Tomlin. Andy leaves to cherish his memory, his life partner of 52 years, James Buckley; brothers, Louis (Betty) of Haleyville, Ronald (Sharon), Joseph (Jean), Richard (Della) and David (Linda), all of Port Elizabeth, and Paul (Joyce) of Shiloh; sisters, Elaine Shepard (Michael) of Florida and Elizabeth Tomlin-Cramer of Maryland; along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at noon at the Hoffman Funeral Homes, 643 Main St., Leesburg. Relatives and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
