We’ve already seen the LoadShed app, but now there’s another option in the form of ShedAlert.
Available for Android, the free ShedAlert app notifies users of changes in Eskom’s load-shedding status, but also allows users to check schedules for their area (up to four areas are supported).
The app also offers schedules for the next few days, as well as a built-in torch utility.
The developer is constantly adding new municipalities to its list of supported areas, calling on users to email him to request new areas.
But as of publication, there are quite a few municipalities already supported, such as Cape Town, Tshwane, Durban, Nelson Mandela Bay, Germiston and Ekurhuleni.
Hat-tip to Gearburn for spotting the app.
